February already?

Wednesday, February 02, 2011

Dear blog, sorry for abandoning you for so long, but as you know, life is hectic and it's all I can do to keep up with my workouts, track my food and spin the wheel here on Spark. emoticon

emoticon January has just zoomed past and the downtime I got was spent idly surfing, instead of putting my thoughts together. I think I needed that....
... but I also think I do a lot better with the support I gain with blogging. emoticon

emoticon So here goes, a short update of my February goals and I'll try to keep posting these during the coming month.

GOALS: Track food: stay in range 6 days/week. Track fitness: Cardio/ST/100 day challenge. Friendship/Support: Be active on GOYAAM and Not-Nuns teams. Huddle, post on members pages/blogs and write my own blogs.

emoticon I'm on track with the 100 day intentional movement challenge, day 33 done and dusted, scraping through today by walking ten minute walks between meetings today and from work to choir practice.

emoticon I'm tracking my food, and so far this month (haha) I'm in range too. I've been splurging a bit too much on the weekend, but I'll work on better weekend control in February.

emoticon For exercise we're doing something active every day, and we've been doing our ST at the gym twice a week in January and we go for daily walks and two-three times per week we do some walk/runs on the snow/ice, but I can work on intensity on some of my cardio sessions. Perhaps it's time to add the dreaded intervals again.

emoticon In other news, my darling is burning with fever today and just went to bed. I'm not feeling too well today myself - woke up with a headache - I just hope I don't catch what he's got because I don't have time for that with all the stuff I have to do at work.

So it's off to bed with me too, and I'll try to sleep it off. emoticon

    Feel better!

PS Because of you, I occasionally refer to Mr. J as a Hoopy Frood. This amuses him. :)

I can't believe it's February, either... and I hear you on every other front. I'm so glad to hear you are doing well amidst the challenges of life, and I pray you're not sick! Thanks for the hugs you've graciously dropped by.

I thought of you today, Merit... I received an email about an attraction in your general area of the world, and I wondered if you had ever been:

"The Pulpit of Stavanger: In Forsand, not far from STAVANGER in the Norwegian province of Rogaland, there is a huge cliff which towers 600m above the fjiord Lysefjorden... the plateau at the top is about 25m X 25m and is nearly flat, but unfenced. The path to the top of the cliff starts at an altitude of about 270m... a track that will lead in about 2 hours to the plateau."

The scenery and the hiking path looks breathtaking and well-worth the 'walk'!

Great goals for Feb. Life gets busy and sometimes all you have time to do is just track the basics instead of surfing on spark. I hope your darling feels better soon!

    Dear Telerie's Blog --
Would you please take her temperature for me? And fix her some chicken noodle soup? And tuck her into bed early tonight?

    Dear Telerie's Blog

I am so glad to see you! I always miss you when you are off doing other things. But it sure sounds like the foundation you got when you first began keeps you on track. And that is the main thing. I hope Marit and hubby do not get the nasty bug that I had on this side of the pond. Fever, misery And that is with the flu shot! I suppose globalization applies to viruses too. Alas.

So please pass my best regards to Marit and tell her to come visit you regularly so I get to see her too.
