The Nutrition Tracker is Devouring My Life

HELP! The Nutrition Tracker is sucking the life right out of me! I am spending FAR TOO MUCH TIME doing this! If I ate fast food, junk food, or processed food I would be fine -- because all of that is already in there! Doesn't anyone cook any more? there are several issues:
1) I cook a lot and cook almost everything from scratch . I make different dishes -- not the same 10 things served over and over. So I end up using the recipe calculator daily. This takes FOREVER, as I have to enter foods not listed and check everything that is listed BECAUSE...
2) There are countless entries that are just plain WRONG OR INCOMPLETE. I have to double check everything that is already entered and now understand why there are multiple entries for one item.... everyone just adds their own so that they know they can trust the information. I mean what's the sense of measuring and tracking if the information provided is wrong??!)
3) I actually found a recipe that someone else had entered (for a gluten-free bread made from a mix), but could not get it to transfer to my daily nutrition tracker for the life of me. I am generally computer savvy -- how do I do this?
4) Then... I had to build a recipe from the ground up today and wanted to add a portion of my homemade spaghetti sauce to the dish, but there was no way to do it! I already entered the spaghetti sauce recipe and shared it, but it didn't come up when I searched for a food OR in my list of favorites.
Actually... the programming is just cumbersome. I know it's free, but there is no way I can put this much time into this site every day. I've been doing this since January 13th and this part of the process isn't getting any easier. ARGH. I know anyone who reads this will hear my frustration. Sorry...but i just spent hours just so I could track what I had for dinner yesterday and today. It's the most frustrating part of the whole process and something I just know I cannot keep up with for the long term.
Words of wisdom are welcome.

I don't know Trilly... for a cheesecake that is not so bad. Maybe skim milk would help a little on the fat content without compromising the taste too much. It's wayyy better than my Sock-it-to-Me Cake! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/

Because of the fat content, here is what I mean:
Strawberry Cheesecake V2
1 8oz pkg. cream cheese
1 8oz pkg. fat free cream cheese
1/4 cup of granulated sugar (or splenda)
1 3/4 cup 2% milk
1 tub Cool Whip, fat free
1 3oz pkg. Strawberry Creme Pudding mix
12 Graham Crackers- roughly crushed
2 Tbs. Ginger
2 Tbs. Cinnamon
1 Tbs. Nutmeg (I like to use fresh but ground works fine)
4 Tbs. Splenda Brown Sugar
1 stick butter, unsalted
1 cup Unprocessed Wheat Bran, Hodgson Mill brand
19 4 oz jelly jars, wide mouth, with lids

Glad to hear that it's not just me. SALADS ARE A PAIN! I decided to set aside a whole day...maybe later this week...to sit and enter as many recipes as I can. I'm going to make one recipe for a salad with everything that I ever use in it and just use that. For now, I want to see where I am with all my nutrients, so I want to be as accurate as possible.
Fastestdogever --- It ALWAYS takes me longer to track than to cook it! I am hoping one whole dedicated day will help me get a jump on this.
Trilly, why do you say your new recipe is not healthy? Did it turn out with too many calories or what? Let's get together and go shopping and maybe make some jars of goodness soon.

I hear you GF! I decided to just input all my own info, and Ill just put "trilly" in front of it. That way I know I did it correctly. I think that in time, I will have entered everything. Most the time Ive entered individual ingr. but forgot to "group" them so I could use them again and again. So I go back in the past and just copy the meal over to todays food. For me its very important to maintain this diet long term. And my memory just plain sucks!! I doubt very much that Im going to remember every entry. A few days ago I made up version 2 of my jars of strawberry cheesecake. Only to find its not healthy. Why is that? I used fat free stuff... and added fibre by altering the graham cracker crust to include bran... and the serving size is only 4 oz. Now Im worried... do I need to now go back and read all the values for each and every thing and enter them in myself? I thought the recipe calculator took care of that for me. arg.....

I hear you - I have the same problem. Even something like a salad takes time because there's the lettuce (maybe even 2 different types), cucumbers, onions, peppers (I like red AND green), carrots, croutons, celery, maybe some nuts, dressing, etc., etc. And it's different everyday (different amounts/types). Sometimes it's quicker to actually make the salad in my kitchen than it is to enter it in the nutrition tracker. Ha.
I agree about all of the wrong info and duplicate entries. I wish that if I was adding my own info it would compare it to an already entered entry and ask me if it was the same thing.
I usually stick with "close enough". I'll just make sure the calories are correct and not really worry about the fats/protein/carbs. Or, instead of listing 1 cup of 8 different types of vegetable I'll call it 8 cups of peppers. Since you make so much from scratch, there's a pretty good chance that it's all pretty healthy anyway (unless you are making chocolate, or beer, or bacon).
