After a short hiatus from sparkpeople due to illness and getting myself organized for another semester, I am back...and this time I mean serious business.
The pre-new years challenge was a test to see how much will power I could exert over a span of 5 weeks, and I found that it came and went in waves of about 3-4 days of 'this is going REALLLY GREAT!' followed by 2-3 days of 'ARG why am I out of control?!'. That being said, this time around I have picked a shorted time span (3 weeks) and an extremely tough goal (8lbs) that really means I can't afford those out-of-control days if I want to attain my goal. It is a newer, harsher approach, yes, but with fewer specified rules. I already know my own weakness is chocolate and cookies, and that my strength is physical activity, so I am going to play on those 2 things.
To combat my weakness, I am going to drink tea everytime I get a craving for anything sweet. Hopefully after a week or so that won't be so uncomfortably hard. To play up my strength I am going to get back into my training after my 2 weeks of sick-break. Hopefully these two massive changes at once will lead to big results in the first week or so, which will make it more motivation for the next 2 weeks as my body starts to fight the weight loss and makes me hungrier, lazier, and craving more junk.
If there are any other University/College students who have a spring break/reading week coming up in 3 weeks, I invite you to join me in a 3-week intensive spark'push' to get closer to your overall goals!
