Snow day...trying to find little ways to get my heart pumping

It started snowing again last night and this morning we have almost 5 inches of snow. The roads look slick and the hubby has my Jeep so I can't get to the gym. All sidewalks are covered in snow. Days like this I'm kind of scratching my head as to how I can get some exercise in. I've already shoveled the sidewalks and ran around in the yard with the dog. Think I'll do a cleaning marathon and then maybe play Wii Fit, Kinect Dance Central or do a yoga dvd. I don't have much else here except for a jump rope, 5-lb dumbbells and a deflated exercise ball. Anyone else have any suggestions?

    Hey, try some of Coach Nicole's exercise videos on Spark. I've done a few of them just to counteract any boredom with my Wii.

    I think a start with a cleaning marathon would be your first best bet. If you are moving around the house then you are exercising and being productive. I'm sure your husband would appreciate coming home to a clean house. After that just search the videos on spark pages for exercises based on your goals. I don't know if you are going for cardio or for strength, but check them out. If nothing suits you, just think of what your gym teacher had you do to start off PE class. Jumping jacks, sit-ups, push-ups, stretches...Those are classics that get your heart going and develop strength. Good luck!
