Good morning Spark Peeps!

So I've had it! I am sick and tired of fantasizing about sweets all of the time, so I decided to take action this weekend! Starting at dinner on Saturday evening I started back on Phase 1 of the South Beach way of life! Notice I did not say diet. I had to do SOMEthing to get rid of my craving for sweets...it was just so out of control.

The body is such a weird thing...no?! So my little size 10 jeans have been snug lately in the arse and thigh area, which was no surprise with the way I ate during the holidays. BUT... what I don't get is this. So I gained 3 pounds, right? Right! Not too big a deal....except for the fact I was having a hard time getting back on track (thus the SB P1 start up). I decided to start fresh with my weight tracker (now says 138 lbs) AS WELL AS my measurements. I was absolutely dreading taking my measurements. I thought that it was going to be a very ugly ordeal. So got the ole' tape measure and wrapped 'er around my waist and low and behold it was smaller than the last time I measured! By a half an inch! WHAT??? Wrapped 'er around my hips...and SNAP, stayed the same. For my arms, and thighs down half an inch and calves, stayed the same! So what gives? Why are my size 10s so darn tight all of a sudden? I am totally perplexed!!

I do feel good about ridding my body of all of those bad bad carbs I have been ingesting for 2 months now. It will really feel good to actually see a cookie or a piece of cake and not want to inhale it immediately. I also have a weakness for recipes (with a photo attached), or a commercial for an ooey gooey yummy dessert of some sort! As soon as see these, I instantly have to have it and fantasize about it until the next one comes along. I am only on D2 P1, but with the help of lots of veggies, water, lean meats, low fat cheeses, nuts, healthy dairy, and healthy snacks, those nasty little fantasies are already slipping away! Amazing!

I am not sure how much weight I will lose during these two weeks. I have heard the more times you go on Atkins or South Beach the harder it is to lose the pounds. I have been on both numerous amounts of times. If I lose 5 lbs I will be ecstatic!!

Happy Sparking Tuesday y'all. They are calling for more snow here in Nashville tonight at around midnight. About 1-3 inches this time. Bring it on. I absolutely love the snow. It's actually the ONLY time that I love winter. So, to all of my Nashville Sparkies, be safe on your drive in to work in the morning.
