MIND boggling!

Monday, January 24, 2011

My girlfriend invited me to Auntie Anne's today to treat me to a Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel. Since I knew I would be eating the pretzel [although I thought we were splitting one], I didn't eat much lunch [a slice of whole grain bread with that delicious Cedar's, Tzatziki, Cucumber/Garlic Yogurt Dip on it; however, I was TOTALLY unprepared for the collateral damage to my food tracking!

I was absolutely shocked to learn 'after the fact' that I had consumed a WHOPPING 470 EMPTY calories with 84 grams of carbs, 12 grams of fat [7 saturated] 400 g. sodium & 12 grams of FAT! Oh, my goodness, no wonder our society is struggling so much with weight issues. I honestly thought 250 calories and 7 grams of fat, but to my dismay discovered the truth!

As a side note, it was pretty tasty so that helps a little bit!
emoticon And I still have 288-688 calories left for the day. I'm having Mexican salad for supper! Well LESSON learned--always research **before** eating! emoticon

Walgreen's deal:

I was able to get 75 photos from Walgreens [maybe a 1/3 of them for my mini-autobiography scrapbook] for .10cents a print! emoticon Hoping to work a little on my book this week.

BTW, the code for Walgreen's deal is Moment10 and is available until the 29th.

I'm REALLY excited to be going snowshoeing for the first time in my life on Thursday with my girlfriend, Sharon.

She is the one that gives Mary horseback riding lessons and has LOTS of trails that we are going to snowshoe through and then she is having a snowshoe party in March out to the lake property.

Hugs, precious friends!

Thanks for sharing your Auntie Annie's experience. I love those cinnamon pretzels! I will be very cautious when walking by one of their locations in the airport or the mall. I'll need to do some serious cardio to rid them in the future.

We just made their home-kit pretzels here the other night. I never looked that the nutritional info. I'm just glad now that I didn't have one. And we still have two kits left. Gifts from family.

Oh, I've always wanted to go snowshoeing!!! What fun!!! Enjoy!

Hope snowshoeing is fun...I would love to try it sometime!

I love Auntie Annies. Good thing the closest one is 45 miles away! Too far to tempt often!

Wow, so many calories. A small mocha frappe at McDonalds' is about 480 calories---but oh so good. I try to stay away --once in a while I'll treat myself. But that's a meal, and it doesn't fill you up! Snowshoeing sounds fun, never have done it. Let me know how you like it. emoticon

Hello to my new Sparkpeople friend!!

Good job learning about staying away from Auntie Anne's pretzels! They are so doggone delicious, but just not worth the calories, huh?!

You are an inspiration, by the way!! Good job to go snow shoeing!! Sounds so fun!!

You are doing great. As long as you are losing and keep moving a treat every now and then won't hurt ya. emoticon

You are not suppose to reward with food but when I reach goal I'm having some boudin with saltines. I can hardly wait..LOL emoticon

Oh, Susan, you make me want to snowshoe! emoticon These Texans down here have no idea what fun snow can be, and I am missing it at this time of year! emoticon What a great friend you have! I know you've talked about her many times, and I think it's really neat that she gives your sweet girl riding lessons! (horse emoticon goes here)

I've heard about the pretzels! I can't believe I didn't get to 400 lbs. the way I ate before I started learning about healthy living! Sheesh! emoticon
