Well its been awhile Sparkers! And although I have not been as active on this site as I would have hoped I have been reading The Spark book! Found it on sale at Barnes and Noble =]
To fill in anyone who cares I'll let you know whats been going on in my weight loss journey. Well since I have decided to lose weight I have been working out just about everyday... averaging from 20 - 40min of cardio and light dumbbell exercises. And to my surprise I wasn't losing any weight. Yes I felt a slight change in my legs but that's about it and this went on for about two months. My problem was I wasn't really changing my diet, I was still eating what I wanted and trying to please my food loving boyfriend.
Anyway about two weeks ago I woke up and felt like someone injected a shot of motivation into my arm and I have been on fire ever since! I realized that I posses the knowledge and common sense it takes to lose this weight... BURN MORE THAN I AM CONSUMING.. TADA!! So i went out that day, bought a notebook to track my calories and began tracking. I wrote out an easy to follow diet plan and stocked up on veggies, brown rice, chicken, oatmeal, lean cuisines and other food I enjoy that fits my caloric range. And amazingly enough I am finding this fun... I feel like I am finally in control and I enjoy looking at my number at the end of the day and feeling successful. And guess what?? Now my boyfriend is trying to make healthier decisions and has started to look at nutrition labels!! I never thought I would see the day lol.
I haven't weighed myself since beginning my new diet but I feel great! My stomach feels flatter and I don't have "food guilt" lingering over my head all day. So to anyone who is wondering if tracking calories is worth the extra time and effort, DO IT. I wish I had done this from the start.
Till next time! =]
