SPARK computer problems

First off, I wrote Spark help desk two weeks ago, have NOT even RECEIVED a
reply.

We cannot afford to take the computer in to a shop to get something done.

I am having trouble even commenting on threads of groups that I belong to, for
instance, yesterday, I got an email notification that there was a new member in
one of the motorcycle groups. The pages that pop up, took over, and after trying
12 different times to welcome him, I gave up.

So far, I am not having problems with anything but Spark, which is why I wrote them
trying to get help and find out what they think.

I am going to pull out for a week, not go to spark for anything, and see if this helps
or maybe I can find someone who can help me and is more knowledgeable that David
and I, who would come and look at it, because you have to look at it to understand
what is going on, and me trying to explain it and then someone trying to help(THANK
YOU BLAKBIRD FOR TRYING SO HARD) is very difficult.

Anyway, those of you that have my regular email addy can contact me otherwise
I will check with all of ya'll in a week, and see if staying off here will show us where
this problem is coming from.

Just a note so you know, we have Norton360, SpyBot, AdAware, and Spy Sweeper plus
Clean-Up, and I run all of thse daily.

If anyone has any suggestions/ideas, you can sparkmail me, and I will keep an eye on
that.

Blessings to all and I will miss you, even if it is only a week, you guys are family to me,

    I haven't been on Sparks a lot for several weeks now. I am having 'issues' to deal with as it is, and dealing with having my computer taken over from viruses from Sparks. And the last time having it almost crash my computer - and not getting a reply when I reported it to Sparks, well, I just didn't want to keep having it affect my computer. I would have liked to get on a bit more, but the last time a virus I got on Sparks cost me $300. and then several days later another virus tried to take over my computer when I clicked on something on Sparks - and I just can't afford to keep having my computer fixed. So I have kept my Sparking to a minimum. I am sure these problems happen anywhere but most of the problems I have had have come from here. And, one time from a vitamin order site. Geez. You'd think you'd have to go somewhere risky to get infected but the only way to be totally safe is to 'stay home' (i.e. off the computer). But the computer is part of life...

    Hurry back, Darlene. If you're running Internet Explorer 8 or Windows 7, you may need to run it in compatability mode if you aren't already. I don't think I suggested that the other day in our Rome thread.

    well seems some of us is having probs on here. mine is i have to keep refreshing to bring up pages pmo sometimes so i just get out of it. hope you get this fixed soon. bel

    Thanks for the call-out Momma_D, now everybody knows I'm not much help with computer problems - sheesh - emoticon

Actually, that's a good thing, It's working with computers that keeps me off Spark People.

On the other hand it's working with computers that got me to Spark People in the first place, the sedentary life style, poor food choices 4 nights a week, a couple of beers in the hotel bar 4 nights a week etc.

Hope the links people sent help get you some SP Tech assistance soon.

    Try this for getting Spark help:

-Go to message boards (http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark
/mycommunity.asp)
- Click on Site/Tehnical Help
- Start a new thread.

I've tried that method a few times and it worked for me.

    I know I was having issues with it when I used Internet explorer. I downloaded Firefox web browser, and now I haven't had any issues! :)

    I hope you get it figured out soon. My computer is slower, probably from waiting for the ads to load. I'm sure you've defragged and gone to internet options and cleared out your cache.
