Sparkin' Away Behind the Scenes

Monday, January 24, 2011

So it feels like I'm been absent for awhile. I've been really busy with life and haven't had the time to sit down and post much. But I have kept sparking and made what I consider to be some great achievements:

1. I passed 50 days in my 100 day challenge. The furthest I got last time I attempted was 48. I'm now on day 57 and owe myself a massage as a reward. Now I just have to make the time for it.

2. My belt slipped back to a new hole yesterday! I don't think that one has ever even been used before! I can't tell you how encouraging this is as in the past 57 days I've only lost about three pounds.

3. The other day at the gym I wanted to see how long I could jog for without stopping. Before I knew it I had reached six minutes! After resting for a bit I did it again for five just to prove to myself it wasn't a fluke. I may not be losing much weight but I am making progress with my fitness levels. Unfortunantly, running might have to take a backseat for a little while. This is the time of year my asthma gets quite bad.

I also did my first few sessions of weight training. I've been putting off doing this as I feel a little pathetic going in there. Most of the equipment I have to take all the weight off and just work with the weight of the machine. But I've been able to sneak in when no one else was in there and really rather ejoyed it. I could already tell an improvement between the first and second session. Silly me for waiting so long, but I won't let that stop me anymore!
