Chair Yoga - Sun Salutation

Sun Salutation is a series of postures performed in a single, graceful flow. Each movement is coordinated with the breath. Inhale as you extend or stretch, and exhale as you fold or contract.

The Sun Salutation builds strength and increases flexibility.

Included in these poses are the Mountain or Prayer pose, Swan, Forward Fold, Plank, Upward Dog, Downward Dog, and Lunge. We have limited these poses and modified them for the chair.

Give them a try, and repeat as you like. Remember to breathe in deeply through the nose, and really feel your breath give energy to your body.

    Thank you. I do enjoy chair yoga, although I am not very good at it as yet. Fortunately, no one sees me. Not very graceful, need more practice.
