Too Cold to Run

Friday, January 21, 2011

Is there a cut off temperature for you??

I discovered mine. 8 degrees with a negative windchill factor, that is my personal cutoff. My wonderful facemask that I have bragged about (yes I believe in karma, I got the payback), allowed the cold air into my lungs when I was stretching out and walking the dog for his early morning deposit. All routine prior to the running part, but the air chilled my lungs, and I was done.

I stop running (I run early in the AM) once its still dark at 530 am...I need to be home by 6 to shower and get ready for work, so I cant leave any later than 530.

Good for you!! 8 degrees w/neg windchill is tooooooo cold for anyone to be out - especially running. LOL I am planning to do a HM in Pittsburgh PA in March and am already concerned with what the weather will be then. In PA you never know. I am not use to being out in really cold weather (below 30) to exercise except for walking sometimes, but hey we have to be willing to try right? Still in all, I really think NOT running this morning was a very wise decision. Have a great day. emoticon emoticon
