Life is Uncertain

Thursday, January 20, 2011

This blog is not directly related to healthy living but it is on my heart. One of my friends mother is dying from cancer. It is very sad. The family is very tight knit and Mom is the center...keeping everything going smoothly. She is only 65 and to me that is young.

What my friend is going through is very familiar to me. I lost both of my parents to lung cancer and my brother to a brain disease. These losses were very difficult and still are. I miss them very much and often think I wish I had one more hour with them to say or do the things I regret I didn't.

Not meaning to be melodramatic but life is short and uncertain. We don't know when it will be our time or our loved ones' time. Tell them you love them often. Don't let the last thing said to them be in anger or sarcasm. I don't think anyone wants to be remembered for saying ugly or hurtful things.

Sorry to hear about your loses. One good thing to remember is that they are in a better place. They are up in Heaven looking down on you. They will not suffer anymore and one day you will get to join them again. I have lost several close relatives recently to but i know i will join them one day.

I lost two parents within 6 months of each other. The past nine months have been very difficult for our family. I am just happy that I had them and their love. They were the best grandparents that my children could have had and they will always be in our heart.
