You can do it! Hang in there.....I'm just starting too. Seems scary, but I'm ready too. I understand your frustration and fear about trying....seems like we've tried it all before, right? :) You can do this. Let's make food addiction a part of our past!

I just started yesterday and find that 8 glasses of water actually helps me from feeling too hungry. Also eating every two hours beginning at 8:00a.m. is also very helpful as well.

Good for you for starting on this weight loss journey!!! Welcome to Sparking!
What helps me is eating something healthy every 3 hours so I never get to the point where I am so hungry I can eat anything & have very little control. This also keeps blood sugar even so you don't get those spikes & drops.
I also LOVE the idea of hundred calorie snack packs to throw in your bag so when everyone is snacking you have yours too.
The other advice is:
1) Drink a LOT!!! At first you will be running to the bathroom every 2 minutes, but then your body gets used to it & levels off.
2) Sugar free gum. Great when you get the urge to eat something sweet but know you probably shouldn't.
3) Emerald Cocoa roasted almonds. They also come in 100 calorie packs & are SO yummy & satisfying & healthy!!!

Start slow. Don't expect too much too soon. KEEP BLOGGING & use all the help that Spark has to offer. Some days I don't know what I'd do without the support I get on this website!

I think one thing that helps me is to try and 'feel' like I am fitting in with the crowd for the snacking thing instead of feeling deprived/left out, but in a positive way that will fit into your new lifestyle. What I mean by this is pack some snacks that you can munch on too and that will fit into your plan--I've been getting mixed nuts with dried cranberries and portioning them out to snack on, lite popcorn, or a healthy trail mix. Other snacks may be grapes, berries, sugar snap peas, baby carrots, or pita chips with hummos. Hope this helps! I have always heard that eating smaller meals, every two to three hours can really help:) Congratulations on starting on your journey to health and happiness!!!

I know its not the same but water helps me, lots and lots of water. emoticon Snacks such as fruits and vegetables can be eaten. Fix your self a baggie and snack on with the others. emoticon Join some of the teams that have common interests and goals with you. And know that your not alone. emoticon

I'm Marilyn, and I just stopped in to say HI! Cool Video Blog!

I had no idea how to get started here, and walked away a few times before I figured this out. So glad I came back, but wished I had spent more time on this site when I first found it.

You CAN do this, and we all can help.

Start clicking on all those drop down menus at the top and learn how the site works, especially the MY TOOLS tab and SPARK POINTS subgroup. This will kick start your success, for sure.

Click, read, and post on anyone's page that looks interesting to you....isn't that how we're being introduced? You'll be glad you did, as I sure am.

Hope you have a wonderful day!
