Week 1 -- WOW!! WHAT A START(or lack there of!) Sorry to my SP family!

Monday, January 17, 2011

Ok! I started my journey just last week on Jan. 9! I promised myself that every Monday I would post about my previous week no matter how good or bad so here it goes.

First, I just want to apologize to those who have sent me messages and those who have posted to my blog or on my page! I have not responded to anyone I don't think! I was snowed in the first part of the week with no internet and when it was finally gone and I had to go back to work that is pretty much where I stayed trying to catch up! I hope that I get used to this all soon and am able to keep up with everyone on here! SORRY :(

So as for my first week! I good have done better! I made a few small goals to start me off for the rest of this month and managed to stick with ugh one of the four! Wow that is hard to type! Anyways I have not had a coke all week and have had mostly water with a few glasses of tea over the weekend! I wish I would have taken the time to track my water so I would know where I stood in that area since that is all I have been drinking! Anyway, there were some times when I had the option of have a dr. pepper and had to say water quickly to avoid it but I did so that I am proud of!!

I had also set a goal to give myself a 5 min pep talk everyday and all I can say is this did not happen! No excuses I just simply did not do it! Although, I am making a small change to this goal for the rest of the month! I simply want to give myself some sort of pep talk or read something inspirational for my journey each day! I am going to work very hard for the rest of this week to do this each and everyday!

And as for that 10min of cardio! Well........! I again have no excuses just didn't do it! I guess I got hung up in the snowdays and just fell back into my lazy self stuck in the house!!! I did do alot of cleaning so I guess that can count for something! I am going to stick with this one from now on though! I can do this everyday for the rest of this month! It is just 10minutes!!!

I think that covers everything so as you can see Week 1 was a rocky start but I am still in this and am trying to get back up and do what I need to do!! I have tried slipping into that I feel sorry for myself place because of my lack of work last week so I am working to stay motivated and be accountable to myself and SP!!!

So as for this week! Sunday was not a great day either although still no soda and I cleaned for about 6 hours yesterday so I think I can count that as 10 minutes of activity! Today I have not kept track of my water but I still have not had any soda! I am fixing to get up and get that 10minutes of cardio in and then look for my daily inspiration!!!

I vow that tomorrow I will keep track of my water and stick with these small goals for the rest of the week! I know I can and I will!!! Looking forward to next weeks blog!!!

Hope everyone has a great week!! Won't be on much this week! I start back to school tomorrow so I have to get into the groove of that !!! Hope to be more regular in the coming weeks!!

When you first start out it's the hardest trying to get into routine & plan of what to do!

emoticon Hang in there. Starting is the first goal and you have accomplished that. It is really hard to break the old habits. Because that is routine. To get started and stick to new goals you really have to work just as hard to make the new routine the norm as so it becomes second nature. No matter how much you hate it. I go to the gym 4 days a week and do 60 + min of cardio and I hate every minute of it. I love music and that gets me through. Keep working at it in small steps and you will see results. be patient and remember change is good.

emoticon Hang in there! I agree with our 2 Spark friends above, you are taking small steps which in turn will ultimately lead you to your goal! You have been doing really well with your water intake and staying away from the cokes, and you have been working around the house! This all leads to your goal!
Don't forget, if you need a pep talk, just come to SP! You can get lots of PeP, emoticon encouragement, and challenges to motivate you! emoticon

You are achieving in small steps. Look how you stuck to drinking water (herbal tea is nice, too). You are here with the rest of us...taking the small steps necessary to reach small goals at first. Sure, we all have set-backs, but don't dwell on them; every day is a new day to march on. Don't take the small stuff for granted, it all still counts. We may be strangers, but we all have similar goals and desires for lifestyle changes. Best to you! Z
