Scared to gain weight back!!

Monday, January 17, 2011

I'm 9 lbs. away from my goal of 138 lbs. I'm super excited to be so close to my goal. However, I decided to go all the way with the health "thing" and quit smoking today! I'm so terrifyed of putting the weight back on. I really don't have a plan of attack with stopping the smoking. I just smoked my last butt an hour ago." Cold turkey" is the only way I know to "just do it". I'm going to look on-line to see if there are any herbal ways of detoxing from the years of smoking that I've done. Wish me luck Sparkers!!!!

My husband, at age 21 went "cold turkey". He smoked non filters at the time. Unfortunately he had a withdrawal. But he recovered quickly and was successful. He had not smoked since then...he is 57 now. Best of luck to you. You can do it as he had done.

Cold turkey is the best way...there will be pit falls....
I once got angery at my husband and six months later - I realized I was only hurting my self w/ smoking again...
another time---2years later I smelled someone smoking my brand in a store...I had this stong urge to knock them down and smoke that cigarette..but instead I just left the store...then the urge stopped and I never had that ever again...[tempation was over for me]..it's been 40 years now and still no smoking /or wanting to smoke ever again.. Best of emoticon to you...Good for you emoticon emoticon

I just wanted to let you know that I quit smoking cold turkey 9 years ago and I never looked back. I was smoking two packs a day. When I quit, the hardest parts were the headaches and not getting a good night's sleep. After a few weeks I really felt great though. You can do this! I didn't gain any weight when I quit because I didn't replace cigarettes with food. I replaced them with a craft that I used to like to make. See if you can find something besides food to take the place of smoking. If you need encouragement, let me know.
