I hit 50 pounds lost!!!

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Well, even though I'm still on the Prednisone (I'm tapering off though), I hit my 50 pounds lost mark a couple of weeks ago!!

It's been weird. That first week on the meds, I lost 5.6 pounds, then I gained back 2.6 and this week lost 4.4. Very weird, but at least going in the right direction.

It's been challenging though because the medicine makes me VERY hungry. I've had to switch to eating more frequent smaller meals, and for the most part have still been eating healthy foods.

I learned my lesson about that the HARD way this weekend. I was STARVING on Saturday, and was CRAVING pizza. I decided to give in and I ordered a small pizza delivered. I ate a couple of pieces that night, then a couple more in the morning, and finished it for lunch on Sunday. Then, as I was running errands, I was STARVING again and got a medium fries at McDonald's.

Come Sunday night, I was MISERABLE!!! I have NEVER had such horrible stomach pains, cramps, gas, etc. I won't get graphic, but suffice it say that I spent way too much time in the bathroom and didn't get much sleep Sunday night. My body REALLY revolted against that nasty food I fed it - it really wasn't used to it.

By Monday, all I could think to eat was oatmeal, so I had it for breakfast and lunch, then rice and chicken for dinner. Finally today, I got back to eating somewhat normal again.

I'll tell you, that is ALL the incentive I need to stay away from pizza and fried foods! LOL I don't EVER want to feel that sick again!
