Last 5K of the week

Sunday, January 16, 2011

This last run was my last run for last week, I just didnt get to post it until now, been working alot. I did meet my 4 5K's a week goal for this week. it was an excellent start. i even PR'd again. it was 37:07 now it is 36:54.

It feels so good to be back in the saddle again. The treadmill is all I have to work with at this moment. Working alot of overtime and cold weather has pretty much negated the ability to get out when I want to so i will use the weapons at my disposal to get the job done rather than whine about it.

Goal met. Next weeks goal is 2 5K's and a 10K for the long run. I have got to get myself built up enough so when it does get reasonable out, i can launch into the latter part of the marathon training schedule so I can meet the May 15th goal. I may or I may not make it but i will pull out the stops .. If you give it your all, even if you dont make it, you will have no regrets or second guessing.

Keep it up. Two fives and a 10 in a week sounds pretty decent to me. I'm happy to get three runs in a week lately.

So happy to hear that you are back in the saddle again and making the treadmill your tool of destruction. Keep cranking... You are gonna really rock it by May 15th!

I did (3) 5K's last week. Although I'm a walker, me that's powerful stuff. Your posts helped me ramp up my exercise. Thanks

What do you mean you "may or may not make it"? Stop that line of thought RIGHT NOW! LOL! Of course you'll make it! My marathon is a week before yours and I also just finished week one of training. My long run was 8 miles in the miserable, terrible weather, but I did it and SO WILL YOU!

I sure do admire your determination....please send some of your abundance this way!!! I'm meeting up with a friend who starting running last year also, (she said I inspired her- HA!), but we are both needing alot of accountability about now. Maybe by teaming up with her, I can get back to a comfortable training schedule and regain some lost ground - pun intended.

You know what is awesome about getting out there and moving in whatever form that may be and sharing about it? You never know who and how many people you are inspiring. It is impossible for us to know this and it's something that we seldom, if ever, think about when we are out there "doing.". I certainly don't think sbout it when I'm running, I guess because I'm doing it for me, not for anyone else but inspiring someone is a secondary benefit. I was thinking about this one day, an acquaintance was upset because she was running and some guys yelled out very rude, degrading, demotivating comments to her. As we talked it out, I realized and told her that aside from the jerks that were rude, she has no idea how many people may have driven by and got encourage and inspired by her and started to change thief lives or got demotivated "just because" she was out there being active. Anyway, I have a habit of going off on tangents and telling little stories. My original point in commenting was to say: thank you, you have inspired me to get my run on this week. I'm aiming for four 5k's, thanks to you! Thank you, thank you. Keep challenging yourself and inspiring others along the way!
