Update 01-16-2011
Well, after many days of trial and setbacks with my health and issues with my bypass surgery, I am finally feeling better and taking better care of me. My goals for the year are to try and balance all areas of life including stress management above all. I look for any and all suggestions that any of my friends here offer. What has worked for you. My ideas include getting regular massages and trying to look into meditation. I am not a religious person. I am more of an agnostic. I do believe in a higher power but I'm not limited to the Christian religion. I believe they all have something to offer so I'm not looking for that kind of guidance.

Anyway, I now weight 145 and was excited about that when I got on the scale today. I'm happy to see it going down. I had issues with too much acid but I think taking my probiotics regularly has helped with that too.

I want to use this year to explore other ways to better my health. So, I will be trying to get my body in shape physically with exercise. I'm not going to worry about what kind right now but just to do something every day. I have found that when I make rules for myself and then don't follow them, that I tend to want to give. SO, with that being said, I'm just going to try to move more and find ways to exercise that don't inconvenience me and do things that I love. Dancing is fun to me and so are water exercises. I joined a gym with both so that should be a good place to start.

I only have 15 more pounds to lose to reach goal which is amazing to me. I do not weigh very often because the scale has always been my enemy. So now I weigh about once a month or so. I might even wait for 2 months.

I know that we are not all alike and that we all must take charge of our own health along with our doctor. For the first time in my life, I actually LOST weight during the holidays which was amazing to me.

Having the surgery has helped me more than I expected but it still is just a tool so I have to study more about what I need to do to complete the journey to goal weight. I want to feel healthy. Without your health, there is nothing.

OK, I did not intend to write a book but wanted to check in because I have not been here for so long. Life becomes busy with work and school and doctor appointments. I would love to be here more often but sometimes the computer is just another thing to keep me away from doing the things I know I need to get up and do. More time away from it means I have more of a life.

Congratulation on your weightloss! Woohoo! Stress can be a huge weight inhibitor. My favorite stress reliever is a hot bubble bath. This one just soothes achy muscles and I love the water. :)

I am a firm believer in meditation. I feel it doesn't have to be a religious thing. Any favorite verses, poem or saying will work. When stressed, just say one over and over ... then if that doesn't work repeat. Also visualizing is a great stress release. Picture a place you have been or a place you would like to go or any beautiful place. I like beaches and waterfalls.
