second none scale victory in less than a week

Saturday, January 15, 2011

weather i am having more none scale victory´s than before or weather i am noticing them more because i am looking for them i am not sure but i am hanging on to them like a life line at the moment to keep me going as the last two weeks the scales have been slowly creeping up in the wrong direction.but here is my none scale victory today.

i went shopping to day as lotfi was busy at a flea market trying to earn some money and wouldn´t have time to go.he normally does the shopping as it is easier.he has the car and can go without the kids.the plus of this also means that he carries the shopping up the steps to our house.(did i tell you we have 75 steps to get to our flat and no lift.)well there was a couple of things we needed before monday when the shops open as here all the shops close on sunday.well here goes.ayman fell a sleep in the buggy on the way home.i putvhim in the buggy when we go rouind the shops or other wise he will get everything off the shelves and in the trolly or i would have a screaming fit from him trying to get the sweets ,biscuits he has picked etc off him.anyway he fell asleep and though i tried to wake him so he could walk up the steps,he wouldn´t wake nothing else for it but to carry all 12kg weight of him up the stairs with the heavy bag of shopping.this i did and DRUM ROLL PLEASE..not only did i carry him and the shopping up stairs i did it without stopping once on the way up and as i got up my neighbour was coming out of the door.i had a short conversation with her AND GUESS was in my normal voice, not winded, out of breath, wispery or anything.MY NORMAL if that isn´t a none scale victory i don´t know what is.

maybe when we feel like we haven´t had a good day, week, month even we should start looking and being aware of what little victory´s we have made no matter how small.what can you do now better or quicker than you could do before?do you exercise longer and harder than before?do you get less out of breath?do youget up easier from a chair ,bath or even the floor?are you happier?do you have more energy?all theese count better than any scale.don´t just look at all the things you can´t do look at all the things you can do.they all add up.BELIEVE YOU ME.THEY ALL ADD UP:so here is to all our none scale victory how ever big or small they may be.

Woo Hoo to you! I definitely find I have more energy. The scale isn't the boss of us - we have multiple ways of determining our success - breath, clothes, measuring tapes, mirrors, energy, attitude - we know how we're doing and we don't need the scale to tell us!

emoticon emoticon emoticon I have also noticed less winded when I do things - whether it be around the house or just walking in general. It's a great feeling, isn't it?

Sounds fantastic! I had an NSV today - fitting into a bra that I haven't worn since I weighed about 170-180 pounds (I weigh 212 right now), in fall 2007.

Those are exactly the things we need to be looking for to catch how much healthier we are, even when the scale is not cooperating. Good for you for being healthier and catching the signs! Be encouraged by them. That scale often times does not cooperate, so we need other signs too.

Well I am giving you a gigantic WOO HOO!!! To be more fit and able to do more and accomplish more is way more important than the scale. That is a real victory to be able to carry and walk up those stairs and then not be totally winded. Awesome.
: )
