I have a nine year old granddaughter who has been competing in gymnastics for 6 years. Tomorrow we head out for a regional tournament competition and I am hoping that she will do well.
She practices four times a week and has been in many competitions over the years. She really likes the competitions and I know that she is out there to have as much fun as she possibly can.
If only her "competitive to a fault" granddad could get over needing her to "absolutely win every competition" they would both have a lot of fun. I just don't let her know that she could/should win, win, win, at every meet. No really I am thankful that she is in it for the fun and the competitive nature has not ruined that for her.
Wish her well......
