EATING WRONG

My Daughter told me how she sees my eating habits and I have all kinds of excuses but I'm ashamed, because I guess she's right, So my mood is kind of feeling sorry for myself, kind of questioning future times with family, and just pretty well bummed. I have wanted her over more to help me but I'm just using that as an excuse, God helps those who help themselves, so I will hope for her to visit and be supportive but will try not to expect her to be more than what she can be.

    I, too, agree with Paul's wisdom shared here. Work on one thing at a time & as you get a good handle on that, add something else. I certainly can see the big changes I made --- all started out as seemingly insignificant little changes. I like to say that when added together baby steps end up to equal giant steps. They really do!

    I think that Paul's got the right idea. Once you're retired and don't have to worry about waiting for a break to go to the restroom you can drink lots and lots of water. I try to drink a glass of water - a full glass - every time I feel hungry. Then set the timer for 5 minutes and see if you're still hungry. Most of the time I'm not.... but sometimes I still eat. That's the part I need to work on. We'll, I really need to work on more than that. LOL

    Hang in there and keep plugging away. It took me 6 weeks - THAT'S RIGHT 6 WEEKS to get in a consistent grove. Everything sort of builds on itself and you find yourself gaining momentum. You can't fix everything at once. I started with 8 glasses of water and 10 minutes (min) exercise a day. Then I added less than 4000 calories *WOW*. The break through is when I moved to phase 2 and started replacing cookies and candy with oranges and blueberries. Mess up a day - that's going to happen - I started by staying on target (4000 cals) 5 out of 7 days.

YOU CAN DO THIS! Let us together make 2011 A Year of Success!
