I Hate Stress!!!

Ok I feel better after all these smiles!!
After making so many changes in my life over the last year, it has led me to really examine every aspect of my life. My Marriage has been been very rocky since about 3 months in and the last 5 years haven't been the easiest. I'm trying my best to be patience but a girl can only take so much. Please say a prayer for me that I would make the right decisions.

Stress can bring on so many different feelings, and especially those of us that have struggled with emotional eating because the simplest triggers can set us off into splurging into unwanted calories. I choose not to fall into these traps and today as I return home from work I chose to walk in peace.

On a lighter note we got a few inches of Snow, Jonah wanted to build a snowman but I told him to wait a couple days till I knew he was all the way feeling better:)

What does everyone think of the newest biggest loser season?

Have a Great Day!!

Sailing on rough waters makes us appreciate the calm. I'll add you to my prayer list. I hope your days are sailing smoother this week.

Biggest Loser - I used to not watch it. When you know you should loose weight, and you aren't really even trying, it's uncomfortable to veg out on the couch munching down a bag of chips and watch all these people transforming their lives. Since I've taken my own life back and lost quite a bit of weight, I'm really into it. I love watching it for motivation and inspiration! I love it, but don't like (as Rachglaze) said that it makes rapid weight loss or doing a complete 180 overnight with eating and exercise habits, the only way. If people would just increase the number of healthy choices they make gradually, they will get there and never look back!

I just recently went through a divorce. It was not an easy decision for either one of us, and through the entire process, I wondered whether I was making the right decision or not. Whatever you decide, please know that you have support here.

As for your marriage, in general if there is abuse, then it really isn't a marriage. However, without abuse of any kind (and that includes emotional and verbal), then we should be daily trying to be that one flesh. Major or continuing problems might need the counsel of a pastor.

I am praying for your wisdom!

Biggest Loser, what can I say. I can say that I have watched all of them. I dvr them so I can watch on my own time and skip the parts I don't really want to sit through -- (like the endless beeping waiting for the weight to show and all the commercials.)

    Positives of the Biggest Loser:
    1. It does inspire people to lose weight and get healthier.
    2. It does encourage people to exercise.
    3. It does have good information on eating healthy.

    Negavites of the Biggest Loser:
    1. I think it can cause a mentality that the only successful weight loss is rapid weight loss. I mean, these contestants get up there and look so completely crushed when they only lose 5 - 8 lbs a week. Worse, the trainer and the rest of the contestants look completely shocked to see anything less that 5 lbs on the scale. It really saddens me to see these people cry and be upset at a number on the scale. I mean they are changing their lives, they should be happy.

    2. I don't like the restrictive quality of the eating. Let's face it, most of us have dieted before and it doesn't work in the long run unless you are going to eat that way for the rest of your life. I don't know about you, but if I don't like the food, I'm not going to eat it. I think there should be more emphasis on finding ways for each individual to eat what they like and make it healthy. Not for each individual to eat certain foods or restrict certain foods because they are on a "diet".

    3. I don't like that the temptations are all sweets and junk like losing weight is an all or nothing proposition. It is okay to have all things in moderation. As soon as I start thinking "can't have" is as soon as I'm so focused on that one thing, eventually it will get me.

    4. I don't like that these contestants exercise for hours and hours on end. In the real world, most of us are not going to be able or willing to spend 6 - 8 hours in a gym.

Saying what I said, don't fillet me if you happen to be a huge fan of the Biggest Loser. I too like the inspiration it gives and the motivation to get healthier. I too watch the show, cheer on the contestants (my favorite to date: Tara and Sunshine). I love to see the transformation moment. My only concern is the risk of "Biggest Loser" expectation in a real world environment. It would be tragic for anyone to give up on their weight loss journey because they couldn't lose 10+ lbs a week.

    So, those are my thoughts!

    Have an excellent Wednesday!

You are certainly in my prayers ... went through an ugly divorce myself a couple of years ago and the stress eating was not pretty.
