What's with the Negative Attitudes!?

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

Is it just me, or do you all run into this too....

When you tell people you are getting healthy, they are so negative!

They have comments about how its ridiculous because we are all going to die anyway, or its a lot of work for nothing, or talk about depriving yourself.

I haven't felt better, or less deprived since I have regained control of myself!

I run into jealousy a lot, that's all it is. You just have to call it what it is and move on. Doesn't make it any happier for us, but grr.

I think they're just trying to excuse themselves because they feel guilty that they're not working harder at being healthy. Either that, or they are just not educated on how to be better at it.

You get that and I got a lot of people saying I was getting too skinny(even from my own mother). I think it's a jealousy thing. Most people don't want to have to change their lifestyle or eat healthier b/c it can be a lot of work. Another reason could be that it they think it will affect them ~ they might have to eat healthier too or not go out and party as much. Whatever it is I can tell you I prefer getting the weight off and feeling better/having more energy. And yes, having to listen to other people's comments is a drag but I was so worth it and YOU are too. emoticon

Thank you! They do make me feel a little stupid, but I just keep telling myself that if they can't encourage me they are worth listening to.

Jealousy for sure. Ignore the negative people, they just drag you down.

sometimes the negativity is just a form of jealousy. when someone was negative to me during my weight loss journey I adopted the "Just you wait and see" attitude...now everyone is asking how it's done.

hang in there and don't let anyone make you feel like it's for nothing, it's for your health and happiness.

    Keep moving forward!! emoticon
