I need to STOP

Monday, January 10, 2011

So far today I have shoveled snow for 205 minutes. I got our West driveway all shoveled out, the tarmac done, and the road about 1/2 way up to the mailboxes.

My DH has a dicey heart, and since we are on a private road, the county does not plow for us. Therefore, I want the road cleared in case I need to get him to the hospital or call an ambulance. Better safe than sorry.

Now that I have wrecked myself, it is time for me to stop, take a couple of Aleve and lie down.

You will probably hear me griping all through the rest of the week.

You know what? It is worth it!!!

Now just don't ask me to do any push-ups! emoticon

WAY TO GO...do hope you soaked in a hot tub or had a nice long hot shower. I am with you on this one for sure as I shoveled today for over three hours. By the time I got home and finished, I could hardly move. Was drinking water but didn't pay attention to my blood sugar. DUH to me. Had a glass of orange juice which was delicious!! Then made dinner and had a warm shower. Blissful to say the least.
Praying for you and DH that you won't need to use your clean drive and road for any medical emergencies. Glad you have it done though!!!
    Blessings and hugs,
    Helen

Know that feeling. I also shoveled, because my hubby also has a heart condition. I am now sitting with heating pack on my neck and all evening ! But the shoveling has to get done. I say its my exercise time when I am shoveling! I am just grateful that it was not a foot deep! lol Just an inch or two, but I am feeling it. (I have a neighbro who coems around with his snow machien when it gets way over my ability, hes a sweet ehart!) Just had to shovel 40 minutes and I feel it, so I can imagine 205 minutes of shoveling. That much would have put me in bed! Hope your feeling better tomorrow. Try warm heat or a soaking in a warm tub with magnesium! I use a microwave heat pack on my neck and back. I have all sizes! Warm moist heat is the best for sore muscles when its worst I will use my Tens unit if it is worser. Hope your feeling better tomorrow! If not I hope you invest in some heating pads for those aching muscles!

Lots of cardio for you today. Sounds like it is time to buy a snow blower. Take it easy the rest of the day.

You know, I do believe that qualifies as your 30 minutes of cardio activity for the bootcamp challenge.

In fact, that should count for about a week's worth of cardio exercise! Take a break and rest, my friend. You earned it!

    You are a bulldog!!
You should look into having a local with a snowplow on his truck come take care of this for you since you have a bad back.
