Feeling Positive!

Monday, January 10, 2011

Well yesterday I went grocery shopping and feel so good about what I bought. I had almost everything in my cart that I needed and it was healthy stuff not a bunch of junk. I did buy a few things that weren't bad but not great choices for the kids but nothing that I care a whole lot to eat. I also ate healthy last night and today so far and am hoping that by Thursday when I weigh in I will see a lower number on the scale. I know I can do this and I need to do it this year to feel good about myself and to be here for my kids. They need to know how to eat healthy and be active so they don't suffer when they are older like I have. I know I can do this and I know it is for all the right reason. I don't expect to be done losing my weight by the end of the year because I have so much to lose but know I can make a huge dent in what I need to lose and feel better about myself! I know I can do it!

I am still trying to be positive, but I need some more work on this.

It's a good start... and, I play by the rules of eating 90% perfect. Even Jillian Michaels makes room in her diet, every day, for chocolate. :) I feel like if we torture ourselves & "diet", then we're defeating the whole purpose. "Junk" food can appear here and there without causing major guilt... like, if I go get ice cream, I get berries ontop & do it MAYBE once a month... but, it is enough that I don't feel tortured... I usually make my own ice cream at home with yogurt, but I've been lazy lately. emoticon
Also, if you feel like a treat, SparkRecipes.com has LOTS of low calorie things that only taste like you've cheated.
Since I am prego, I am trying to make every calorie/food count... I have ignored LOTS of cravings.
You're doing an excellent job., I just wanted to say not to aim for perfection or feel like you failed if you have a cookie here and there... Just make them yourself with less sugar, toss some flax seed in there, and use whole grain flour, and bingo-bango, not so guilty, ha. :)
