They announced yesterday afternoon that the University where I work would be closed today--the students were due to be coming back from winter break, since classes for the 2nd semester were scheduled to start today--so I guess they thought traveling would be dangerous for them. Not sure why the staff and faculty got the day off too, but I'm not arguing. I'm also not arguing with their decision, because the snow looks to be piling up pretty good right now and there's no end in sight. I believe the winter weather warning for our area is not scheduled to expire until tomorrow morning! Can't complain though, we haven't had much snow in this area yet this year, nothing compared to last year. And I certainly won't complain about a snow day! I plan to do some walking with Leslie (Sansone), and maybe work on taking down all my Christmas decorations. I have a houseful of decorations, so it always takes me a while to get it all back down.
I lost four pounds in the first week of our Family Biggest Loser Challenge. I don't think anybody else did anything though. Guess they didn't realize that it would involve not eating as much! My son who lives here at home tried to cut back, but I saw him snacking a few times. When those high caloried snacks are gone (yesterday he had some flavored Doritos, which I don't like, that's the only reason I allow them in the house!), he won't have that temptation. I've been buying even more fruit than usual, and he loves bananas and watermelon (which is a little pricey this time of year but OH WELL!), so I'm going to buy lots of that kind of stuff. Our official weigh in for our family challenge is Sunday morning. But this morning (Monday) when I stepped on the scale I was down another 2 pounds to an all-time low of 182.6! WOOHOO! 170's -- HERE I COME! I am so determined this time, just hope I can maintain my will power and self discipline for the long term, so I can keep this weight off.
I went shopping at Kohl's Friday and went back again Saturday. I had gotten a $25 gift card for my birthday, and couldn't wait to spend it. I've been buying lots of sweaters cause they keep my body warm, and I'm cold all the time since I've lost weight. I found two pretty sweaters on Friday. When I was there I realized I could fit in the XL's in the regular sized women's department. You would not believe the selection regular sized women have! It was like a wonderland to me! I could actually put things back on the rack that I didn't like, instead of having to buy it, just because it fit! WOW! It was such fun that I returned to the store Saturday and bought two more sweaters! They had great sales, and I had a great time! Living in One-derland is ONE-derful!
The grandkids came out Saturday night, while their parents went to a basketball game. We always have fun with the grandkids!
