This weekend was filled with restaurant food - Friday night, Saturday lunch AND dinner, and Sunday dinner. I shuddered with doubt when I sat down tonight to key in this weekends food, expecting disaster.
BTW thanks to the fellow blogger who let me know about CalorieKing - found most if not all of the food there, so I was able to put in fairly good representations of my meals.
First of all, because I've been tracking my food here for a couple of months, I had a huge awareness of fat / carb / protein content of my meals. I ate as smartly as I could - only eating 1/2 cup of the delicious rice from the teppanyaki restaurant (table top Japanese), ordering the broiled scallops for dinner, soups, salads with dressing on the side.....doggie bags with every meal (ok so I don't have a dog - but if I didn't he wouldn't like fried rice anyways).
I keyed everything in to the best of my memory, and I was shocked at how I did... I was expecting 2,500 calorie days, especially on the 2 restaurant meal Saturday, but managed to keep it under 2,000 each day. I thought - WOW! I can add to my cardio and burn a bunch of that off today and tomorrow - I ate more than my calorie count but I didn't blow it too badly!
That is what makes this website such a blessing - knowledge IS power - and with this knowledge I managed a weekend diet with aplomb (pun incredibly intended).
