DH and I both have the kind of cold that lingers - we've had the same cold for about 10 days now, each. The kind where you cough, sneeze, etc. My voice comes and goes. And flying home with stuffy nose/ears was not fun.
So I'm making chicken soup. With lots of vegetables in there. And maybe brown rice, or maybe matzah balls. But lots of celery, carrots, and onions. Some garlic. So it will be rich and thick and tasty and good for us.
I'm also planning to make my whole wheat oatmeal banana muffins, so that will be our "dessert" - plus maybe a tangerine or two.
Because when I'm sick, I don't want much food. And our throats need soothing. Plus more liquids. The nutrients in the vegs. The magical healing powers of matzah balls, if I get ambitious.
And with going back to school tomorrow, I'm not going to want to cook dinner - so we'll have plenty left over for a second or third night (when it gets even better).
