N -- Nutrition: stay within calorie range and eat 5 freggies daily
E -- Exercise a min of 20 minutes daily
W -- Write: evaluate yourself, How did you do today? Journal
(5pts per letter per day)

N -- just finished entering everything from yesterday. I went over. We had company for dinner and cooked Bourbon steak. It was SO yummy. emoticon

E -- got my exercise in by doing a pretty thorough cleaning of the hen house. Took me about 90 minutes, although much of that was spent watching the chickens (they're funny) or petting the cats. Still... cleaning and hauling all the dirty bedding out to the garden and then putting in new bedding. My back was feeling the workout by evening. Obviously not worth 90 full exercise minutes, but I figure I'll count it for about 30. emoticon

W -- Well, i dunno. Opposite of Friday. I have found it interesting that I eat totally different on the weekends. During the week, it's little meals spaced out every 2-3 hours it seems. I take snacks specifically because of this. I always eat breakfast... it's just usually either 2 egg muffins (no bread, just egg and sausage in a muffin shape) or a smoothie. Yesterday and today I've had egg sandwiches for breakfast -- about 150 calories more than weekdays. I also noticed that yesterday, because of the larger main meals I didn't eat as many small ones (snacks and such). I don't know yet if this is helping or hurting (other than the obvious "i went over yesterday" issue), but just found it interesting of note.

Anyway... grade for yesterday? B-. Increased from Friday only because for me, getting real exercise in seems to be the harder of the 2.

I have to be REALLY careful on my days off to pay attention to what I'm doing - without the structure of the work week, I can do a heckuva lot of damage without even realizing what I'm doing. I think I'm getting better at planning ahead, but it's definitely a work in progress.

Isn't interesting what this exercise shows us about patterns we generally take for granted without noticing?
