Okay, so it's Day 7 of my Spark People journey and I've already lost 8 pounds. On every one of those first seven days, I've stuck to my Fast Break goals, tracked my nutrition and fitness, and drank at least 8 cups of water a day. Every single day, I've gotten at least 10 minutes of exercise, and on most days more than that. I'm certainly not ready for a 10k race yet, but I'm definitely seeing progress.
To me, Spark People is delightfully simple: set reasonable goals and stick to them. Anyone can do that, right? Of course, I expect I'll slip up from time-to-time, and I've given myself permission to accept that is okay. I'll just pick myself back up and go on with my journey.
Over this first week, I've never lost my determination to succeed. I know it will not always be easy, but I also know I have a huge, supportive network of fellow Sparkers to lean on when times get tough.
