Okay, so it's Day 7 of my Spark People journey and I've already lost 8 pounds. On every one of those first seven days, I've stuck to my Fast Break goals, tracked my nutrition and fitness, and drank at least 8 cups of water a day. Every single day, I've gotten at least 10 minutes of exercise, and on most days more than that. I'm certainly not ready for a 10k race yet, but I'm definitely seeing progress.

To me, Spark People is delightfully simple: set reasonable goals and stick to them. Anyone can do that, right? Of course, I expect I'll slip up from time-to-time, and I've given myself permission to accept that is okay. I'll just pick myself back up and go on with my journey.

Over this first week, I've never lost my determination to succeed. I know it will not always be easy, but I also know I have a huge, supportive network of fellow Sparkers to lean on when times get tough.

    Congrats on your loss and for how quickly you have realized the secret to success here. There is no secret. Reasonable goals, stick to them 90% of the time, don't be upset with yourself for small slips (and they will happen) - remember that it happens to all of us - including those who have met their goals.

Don't let yourself get frustrated, remember its a journey, so there will be ups and downs. Enjoy learning more about yourself, others on the site, and all of the great tools that Spark offers to help you reach your goals.
