ALL I DO IS WIN (or . . . Focus of 2011)

Saturday, January 08, 2011

I know that I am late with proclamations for the new year. I allowed myself time to really search my heart. I am almost wishing that I had done a condensed version, maybe only a month's worth of intentions, but I am gonna spill the entire bucket. These are my hopes for 2011. I apologize for the length - this is more for MY benefit.

1. Review progress every month.
I have already loaded my computer calendar with reminders for reviewing and reporting my progress. This is where I will make adjustments, or just get back on track. This is report card time.

2. Be a FORCE on Spark.
This will be particularly hard as it requires being on the computer - something I have vowed to restrict. However, I will blog weekly, become more team involved, do fly-bys on Spark pages, etc.

3. I will save more than I spend.
Last year was pretty brutal in this area - time to replenish the rainy day fund.

4. Weigh less at the beginning of every month than the one before.
I will work through all the steps of "The Spark". I will be at goal weight by May 31, 2011.

5. No charges to my personal credit card.
I began this year debt free and I will end it debt free. Need to delete this information on any online sites; shred card.

6. Eliminate sugar from my diet.
I will no longer be a Dr Pepper Junkie (and I'll keep saying it until it is SO). I will incorporate the Body-for-Life method of splurge days/meals to help keep me on track and make my resolve stronger.

7. Complete one major project each month.
This will probably be in a constant state of flux as life requires.
Areas to work from:
a)Scan/backup necessary papers from file cabinet
b)Home movies to dvd
c)Sewing/quilting
d)Passport applications
e)Sort school papers
f)Income tax filing

8. Do something special for hubby daily.
Little things add up.

9. Stay current:
a)Saving statements
b)Tracking nutrition (by mid-yr, PRE-tracking)
c)Yard projects
d)Home care (utilizing a fly-lady-type system to maintain our home. I am a fiend for being able to put my hands on anything - even in the dark)
e)Family correspondence: Seems the older we get, the less time we have for this.

10. Exercise programs this year:
a)P90X (again)
b)Turbo Fire (beginning 10jan2011)
c)Insanity (after 30# loss. Still gotta guard my knees)
d)Swim once pool opens
e)Train for walking of Texas Marathon on New Years Day 2012

11. Enjoy new Bible-reading plan.

12. Learn to really use my computer and Office.

And then there are the on-going list of things that is constantly changing:
Scholarship research
Log driving hours
Get enough sleep

As I was waiting for my son, I saw another student wearing a shirt that said "All I Do Is Win". It gripped my heart. A famous preacher has said "What would you attempt to do, if you knew you could not fail?" This is a mindset; one of victory and of triumph. It is not arrogant nor is it 'all or nothing'. It screams I CAN DO THIS! And I CAN do this, one day at a time.

The mental barrier is much stronger than the physical ones. The battle begins and is won in the mind.

Proclaiming a successful and victorious 2011 over your life and mine!

Our lists look a lot alike! I will try to get a blog up w/ mine on it also. I read somewhere that when you write down your goals, you are xx% more likely to achieve them. Good luck!
