Out with the old, in with the new

Well I have to chalk up 2010 to a learning year. Learning Sparks site, learning I have PCOS, learning a new job. All this combined probably added up to why I lost and gained the same 5 lbs all year.

Well I resolve that 2011 will not be the same. I know how Sparks works, I'm on medication for PCOS, I'm comfortable with my job. So let's start again...

They say it takes at least 2 weeks for a new habit to start, so I'm committed to 2 weeks of getting up every morning at 6am and working out with a DVD. It's much too cold out here in Syracuse to brush snow off my car & warm it up to get to the gym. So far I've done it 4 out of the last 5 days. Missed one day because I had to shovel- so actually got exercise in anyway.

I'm also committed to using my YMCA membership on my lunch hour. The Y is 2 blocks from my work and I can get in a 40 minute cardio or strength class every day. I've gone Mon-Tues-Thurs so far this week.

I've also met a new fellow Sparks member (LuceLu) who lives a few miles away. We went to a Zumba class on Weds. I hope we can continue to meet & keep each accountable.

So right now, I'm pretty optimistic this will be a better year than last.
