You know how it is when you start a program and you are all gun-ho and then by day 3 or 4 you are tired of it and slack off?
That is how I used to be. I would go to the gym and spend an hour at a time there everyday, work as hard as I could so the sweat would be pouring off me.
Well, this time I'm going to work up slowly. I still go to the gym, of course, but only 3 times a week for 30-40 minute cardio workouts and a little bit of lower body strength training. I do core and upper body on alternate days at home or work (as part of my lunch hour).
I'm eating everything I've eaten before but I'm weighing and measuring the food. No major changes except for portions and watching sweets.
I've found the best tool for me is tracking all that goes into my mouth. No matter how small or what it is, by not tracking I am only fooling myself. No one else cares what I eat or how much. Tracking is solely to keep me accountable to me and no one else. I must be honest with myself first and foremost if I want to achieve my goals.
Having said all that, I will rely on SparkPeople to help me get where I want to be. No time limits and no excuses.
This is a new year and this is my new outlook!
