Say No To Sugar

On 12/2/10 my daughter sent me this article:
Reading this impressed me enough that I gave up sugar completely on 12/6/10. For 3 solid weeks I ate nothing that had sugar, not even plain bread if it had sugar. I scrutinized every label for any sugar. I wanted the taste of sweetness to go away from my mind so I didn't use any artificial sweetners either. After about the third week I relaxed a little as far as reading every label. I'm not as obsessed. I now just don't add any sugar to anything and I don't eat anything that is obviously mostly sugar; cookies, pies, cakes, candy,chocolates, etc. I have lost a total of 23 lbs since 12/6/10. I eat anything I want as long as it doesn't have sugar, so I don't feel deprived. BUT, by not eating sugar I'm also avoiding a lot of carbs and fats. I no longer miss sugar in my coffee or my oatmeal. Sweets are not a temptation to me anymore. I noticed that from the beginning, the further I went without sugar the less I missed it. I do eat fruit though, and fruit tastes better now.
I came back to SP but I didn't want to blog until I reached the same weight I was back before I quit SP. I wanted to pick it up where I left off. So here I am. I re-lost the weight again and I'm starting from where I left off. Cheers my SP friends. No Sugar!!
