Was looking at some old teen pictures with my mom and remembering the day my senior pics were taken and I was lamenting over the fact that I was fat and needed to lose 20lbs, (I weighed 125). My mom got out a tape measure and did my measurments (36/24/36) and informed me that I had the same measurements as Marilyn Monroe. My answer to that was I didn't want to look like Marilyn Monroe, I wanted to look like Twiggy!!! ~~wow, I wish I were those measurements now! emoticon

Youth is wasted on the young. I'm actually now a smaller size than I was in high school, not because I was really overweight then, but now I have more muscle and am slimmer. You will get to a healthy body for you. Just keep up the good work.

LOL - oh how many times I've wished I had that figure back! That's when I use my "mantra":

I am a beautiful, capable, and lovable woman. I am clothed in dignity. Pretty soon, my integrity is intact again, and I can recognize my beauty - on the outside AND the inside!

I believe that all of you can get to at least a reasonable facsimile of that youthful person, but with more maturity and wisdom thrown in. Just work hard, do your best and you will ultimately be content with who you are. I wish I could get rid of some fat rolls, but whether I do or not, I am very happy with the progress I have made. Compared to where I have been I am very content--although I still have big goals to reach. Keep on keeping on!

Ditto, I've love to be the size I was in high school and I too thought I was fat. Now I know I was just ignorant! LOL.

*hugs* You know, I may need to blog about this ... interesting fact about you and me... I had the same measurements when I had my senior pictures taken!

My class was FULL of twiggy want-a-bes and I can remember (in my junior year) digging through some of my mom's old paperbacks in the basement of our house looking for a new trashy romance to read when I found a bio on Marilyn. In the bio I found her measurements and I was in awe to learn that they were mine also. That discovery may have helped keep me from some very bad eatting habits (I was very insecure about my looks and I thought of myself as fat because of how many tiny gals I knew and some of their comments to me!)

Marilyn's beauty and her curvy nature made me feel sexy and "real" ... I embraced my looks from that day on and went on the next year (my senior year) to enter our hometown beauty pagent and took first runner up. ;)

Kinda weird to realize that someone else's weight and measurements can have that effect on a young girl and I'm with you as well... I'd give just about anything to get back to that curvy beautiful self of my high school days. LOL!

Best wishes for success and joy in your journey this year!

LOL, If only I looked like Marilyn in high school too. Those were some great measurements! And I am sure when your working towards your lifestyle changes now you will find a place where your going to look and feel like Marilyn again.
