My Goals for the Next 8 Weeks

I'm not big on blogging. I do them randomly when the mood hits me. But since I challenged the SparkClass I'm leader of to do one I guess I better lead by example 'eh? No, I'm not Canadian but do like the 'eh!

Here's what I WILL accomplish the next 8 weeks:

1) Lose 2 pounds a week and I WILL achieve this by:

A) Eating less fast foods. I won't say I never will cuz I suck at cooking but I will
make a conscious effort to bring foods to work. I will increase my fiber also.
B) I will eat more fruits and veggies daily. But all I can say about cauliflower and
broccoli is "ack".
C) I will break my meals into 5 or 6 mini meals, 2 to 3 hours a part. This is how I
lost weight before.
D) Start a 21 day withdrawal program from Sweet Tea and chocolate, which I
still believe should be on the food pyramid.

2) In addition to the food plan, this is my exercise plan that I WILL achieve:

A) 30 minutes of cardio a day - minimum - how you ask:

1) Use my mini tramp - I love that thing and need to use it more
2) Use my DVDs that I've spent way too much money - many are still in their
original wrappings.
3) Use my elliptical for more than a coat rack. Each day I will increase the time
that I am on it so that 20 minutes does not feel like a life time.
4) Walking - on the days that I can I will walk outside and get some natural
Vitamin D. On days I can I will go to the mall that has a path outlined or
walk my building at work as we've stepped it out so I know how many
steps and the miles.
5) Complete the 28 Day Boot Camp Challenge that I've started and stopped
2 times before.

B) Strength training

A) Boot camp videos for body parts
B) Kettlebell workout - I think I need to get some gloves that are stickier or
something though because last night I almost launched it through a
window.
C) Alternating days for upper body then lower body and throwing core in
there because that's what I need work on the most

So there you have it. My plan for the next 8 weeks. They say it takes 21 days to break a habit or start a new one. I've got a lot to break but even better ones to start!

And at the end of the 8 weeks, when I've lost pounds I will celebrate with - well - I don't know yet. Depends on how much I lose. But it's going to be good!

Have a happy, healthy, fun 2011. Take time to celebrate being you. And remember God did not put us on this earth to be ordinary. It's time to shine!

    Debbie,

Write it down....a few times...one for the bathroom mirror, one for the fridge, one for the front door..take a moment to read it on the way in and out of the house, and one for your desk.

You have a lot goals, I KNOW you can do it..how....because thoughts become things.

Every morning as I do cardio, my shins get that all knowing pain and I repeat over and over again in my head....my legs feel wonderful, my legs feel great....and after a few minutes they do. If I focus on "my legs are pain free"...the pain never goes away. Put that positive energy out there and it will happen.

You have an awesome well thought out plan! When you plan you succeed. I look forward to hearing how you are doing...please consider a follow up blog half way through (knowing they are not your thing) to let us know how you are doing...the accountability sure doesn't hurt either! YOU CAN DO IT!!

    emoticon on your planning. I know you can do this. All you need to do is accomplish one day at a time......one foot in front of the other. As far as your fruits and veggies go........did you ever try Clementine Cuties....they are like tiny (seedless) tangerines. Very sweet very good. Now that they are in the stores (seasonal item) I bought two bags so far. I eat at least 2 a day. I also eat grapes a lot.....apples and pears are the "winter" fresh fruits around here so I go through a couple of those during the week also. Do you like carrots (baby ones) come in small bags...easy to carry with to work. Green Giant has a lot of "Steamables" in the frozen foods........ a lot of good mixes (with out cauliflower and broccoli. I make them for dinner.....one bag enough for DH and I so you could get two servings out of them....and my last suggestion before I bore you is small cans of V8 juice....I never run out at home. emoticon

    Debbie, I love your 8 week plan. That sounds like a good example to follow. I also did the 28 day challenge when I first started on Spark. I loved it. It really helped me to lose the weight and to get in better shape. I have decided that since I let myself slack since Thanksgiving that it is definitely time to get back into the groove of exercising and back to a normal eating plan. I am going to do the 28 day Bootcamp challenge at night and still get up in the morning to do my Jillian Michael's 6 week 6 pack that I started the 1st of December and did a good job of doing it 5 days a week until right before Christmas. During Christmas I was running so much from one Christmas to another and trying to squeeze in working and visiting with family that was home from a long distance that I put the exercising on the back burner. Now it is time to put the exercising on the front burner and take care of myself. I have got 3.5 months to lose about 35 lbs and I hope to meet that goal by the middle of April so I can really reward myself for my birthday.
