Well, I started out my New year without accomplishing my first goal for the year - to run a virtual 5k. The weather here in MN just was not cooperating with me. The nerve. It was cold and windy and the road conditions were listed as difficult. So, I could not justify starting the car and heading off to the gym. I did not want to do an outside run because of the ice under the snow.
Instead, I chose to do step aerobics. Boy, am I feeling the muscles in my calves this morning. I forgot to where my heart monitor so I have no idea of the actual calories burned, but I know it was a good workout; I used a podcast from Motiontraxx.com that went from 140 - 160 beats per minute. To be truthful, I cannot wait to do that podcast while running.
