2010 was a busy year for me and I just wanted to take a minute to write down my accomplishments.
First, I ran my first marathon. I won't lie - it was challenging but I did it! I started last January with training and ran the marathon over Memorial weekend.
Then, I started training for an Olympic distance triathlon in early August. I completed the triathlon with my mom cheering me on (she was visiting from out-of-state) which made the victory all the better. I had tried to complete the triathlon the year before but was in a bike accident (someone pulled out in front of my on the course) and I could not actually complete the race. So, it was good for me to actually cross the finish line.
After the triathlon, I got busy with work and then school started and my motivation decreased. I am very much a goal oriented person and I didn't have a goal. In early November, I realized that I had tracked over 700 miles on my fitness tracker. So, I decided to see if I could make it to 1,000 miles by the end of the year. This meant that I would have to move my body at least 4.5 miles each day. I got to the gym on the weekends to use the exercise bike but during the week I mostly used my treadmill. I made my goal on December 29! I would say that at least half of those miles were running miles because I had all my marathon training in there. I would also say that I probably went over those miles because I don't always get around to putting the miles into my fitness tracker but it was great to see that number!
