Well

Saturday, January 01, 2011

Well, it's January 1, 2011. I didn't know really what to expect from the day except to start to do things differently. I joined Spark People and started tracking my meals. Tracking is helpful. It's helping me to see that my only meal so far has been chocolate for a snack. I logged Dinner already but I'm waiting for it to be delivered. Pizza. Huhhh. I would say here I go again, BUT...I did not order soda. One of my goals is to eliminate soda from my diet and drink 8 8oz cups of water a day. I'm going to celebrate! I did not get the soda.

My goal for this new week starting tomorrow is to refrain from drinking soda and drink 2 8oz cups of water a day. Also, 10 minutes of walking per day. I'm in it for the long haul so I want the changes to stick. Thanks SP for this website and forum. I think it's going to be a big help.

That right eliminate on habit at a time. After awhile it will just be a daily part of your life instead of a chore. emoticon

You know, the first couple weeks is about EDUCATION, not perfection. It's never about perfection actually. When you see a pattern, you have the opportunity to change it. Become familiar with the tools. I've started tracking (again) because I've found I'm not eating ENOUGH for my runs! It's crazy... going from eating too much to not enough. Anything is possible!

I like that you are breaking it down into manageable goals. Baby steps eventually become big steps! You can do this, stay focused, and take it one step at a time.
