This year, I've already started the changes I want to make, so no new resolutions for the new year.
Goal 1: Run a mile a day, three days/week. I can already run the mile, but sticking to it for three days a week has been challenging with weather and colds.
Goal 2: Run 3 miles a day, three days a week for one year. If I can do that, I can begin to safely train for a marathon.
Goal 3: Build core body strength on non-running days. This will help me avoid injuries when I run.
Goal 4: Bike a little on running days when the weather improves. The cross-training is good, but being able to go on bike outings with my husband is better. And since biking works the same muscles as running, it's better to do them on the same day so they can rest and recover afterward.
It's great to look at this list and know that I've already fallen in love with running and that these are not brand new goals, but points along a trail I'm already taking. A Healthy, Happy New Year to Everyone!
