Day 2 - remembering more of my journey

Thursday, December 30, 2010

To clarify some of the confusion from my blog yesterday - I had my surgery on December 20 to take out my gallbladder, out patient. I returned to my doctor two days later in excruciating pain, she upped my pain meds. NOW this is a sign that you could be leaking bile fluid - but I trusted my doctor - dont we all?

I cancelled Christmas with my kids, I was in too much agony - just to give you an example of my pain med schedule:
I was taking two tylenol 3's every 3 hours, 1 flexeral every 3 hours, 6 motrin every four hours.
I AM NOT suppose to take motrin - this tells you how much pain I was in.
When the Doctor upped my pain meds I was taking oxycoden 2 every 3 hours. No pain relief. I was calling them every day - expressing my discomfort.
The morning after Christmas - I had Don take me to the hospital.

I was not there long when they tested me for leaking fluids, dye ingested xrays and catscan. I was in agony. As soon as they knew what needed to be done - I was in the emergency procedure room for a stent to be put in to stop the leak. I spent some time in the ICU. My liver was shutting down. The drugs and the fluids did much damage. When I woke up in the ICU I knew I was blessed to be alive - God was not done with me yet.

I am thankful to be ALIVE and to be home.
This is day 2 of my prayer and walk healing journey.

It's an immense relief to read that your pain has been diagnosed and it's truly a miracle that you're still with us. Praise the LORD for that! Now is the time for resting upon Him for your continued healing. emoticon Vikki

You're so right. There is too much work to do here bringing God's kingdom to earth. I'm glad to hear that you are back on the mend.
