First day of strength training

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

Well I started the strength training today but was unable to complete it. I did not have a ball so did some modifications by doing the crunches and push ups on the floor and reverse flies on a chair, squats without a wall, and for the leg extensions on ball I did the bridge and held it instead. I only did one set of everything instead of 2 and used 8 pound dumbells. Wish I was able to do 2 sets but will have to work up to it. Was not sure how to modify number of sets on my workout log so will try to find out.
Accomplishment!!!! One set is better than none and it will be two soon enough.

On you fitness page where you select the strength training exercises you want to do, if you select change your settings and then select the beginner's challenge, these can all be done without a ball. I don't have any equipment at home yet so I used this fitness plan. Although you could just as easily add dumbells to it. Keep up the great work!!!

That's great that you DID it! Don't beat yourself up about not completing a second set: when you're starting out 1 set CAN be enough, the important thing is that you got it done! I know it sounds lame but: do your best and forget the rest! :)
