We are coming to the end of the year, and you know what that means - time to declare our new year's resolutions!
#1 - BLOG REGULARLY
Okay - so I just told a new spark buddy that one of my new year's resolutions will be to blog more regularly - so why not get a jump start on that and blog about my new year's resolutions!
#2 - LOSE THE REMAINDER OF MY WEIGHT
HOPEFULLY 2011 will be the LAST YEAR I ever resolve to lose weight. I am striving to lose the rest of my weight this year, so that in 2012 and beyond, it will be to reduce body fat % and maintain weight.
#3 - RUN AT LEAST 6 "LONG RACES" (MARATHON OR HALF MARATHON)
I was originally planning on running one every other month - but the ones I'm most interested in, that are in my area, just happen to fall Aug, Sept, Oct. - so it won't be spaced perfectly!
January - 1/9 - Disney Marathon
March - ??? any recommendations? within a few hours drive of north central MA (close enough for just a 1 night hotel stay the night before the race) March 12-13 or March 19-20 (weekends during my spring break!)
May - Memorial Day Marathon - Berkshires, MA (or half... not sure which yet)
August - 8/7 - Providence Rock n Roll 1/2 - Providence, RI
September- 9/25 - Clarence DeMar Marathon - Keene, NH
October - 10/18? (date not set yet)- Bay State Marathon - Lowell, MA
#4 - GOAL WEIGHT (149) BY 10/8/11 - FOR FRIENDS WEDDING IN FLORIDA
Which is possible with a conservative 1 pound per week loss - I can SO do this! That is exactly how I will focus my efforts too - not trying to lose more than 1 pound per week so that I don't lose too much, too fast and have trouble maintaining it when I get there!
#5 - MAKE DEAN'S LIST FOR BOTH 2011 SEMESTERS!
I'm not working, and I can easily fit my workouts and training into my schedule - So I can put the time in to study and do my best - If I make the Dean's list 3 semesters in a row - I make "president's list"!
#6 - HELP JOE GET HEALTHIER!
My husband has been wanting to get healthier, wants to lose about 50 pounds (also by October - he's a groomsman in that wedding), and may be interested in starting to run... this past year, I wanted to stay focused on ME - making sure I didn't slack... but it's time to help him find his way to health too! His metabolism is similar to mine, he can eat perfectly - but if he's not active, he won't lose any weight... My school's gym has a "spouse-of-student membership" for only $12 a month (and his work will cover up to $40 a month! - so it's actually free!) - FANTASTIC!!! So we will start by meeting there 2-3 nights a week to play racquetball (trick him into exercising by playing his favorite sport!)
Okay - I think that's good - an even 1/2 dozen resolutions. Not too many, but still enough to keep me focused!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
