So, I'm back to stay

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

It's not new year yet - so this is no new year's resolution. But close.
Last year was great in many regards: I've got this really great job that I enjoy and finally, also, we are able to pay back some of our debts. In fact, I've got more work than needed at this point - and although I love every bit of it, it's still taking the toll on my health and well-being. I've gained back almost all of my weight.

I have had a few epiphanies along the way too, last year. And I must admit that I have an issue with food. It seems to be my all-around cure for everything, I'm not overeating in a way that I eat big portions and unhealthy stuff. But I've found that my need for food is much, much smaller than my stomach (or my eyes for that matter). It seems that food, not fitness, should be my first priority this time around. Yes, of course I'll do the fitness, but I need to declare war to food, especially the snacks. I've not got an idea yet HOW to do that. I think it would be great to just measure out the amount of stuff that I need in a day, put it in a box and when that is finished it's finished. Wonder if that would work...

Ok. So I guess, you will be seeing more of me around Spark again. I'm making that a priority (and may be it's easier said - especially around Christmas when I'm off work) than done. But there's only one way to find out: trying it!

Hope you all have a very good new year.

I am so very proud of you for getting back on the wagon. I to suffer from emotional eating. It is my resolution to fix it. I am going to start counseling in Jan. (first appt available LOL!) to see if it will help me to find other ways to deal with my food issue. Good luck!

We have missed you so much! I am glad that you plan on being around and I hope that it works out for you. I say give the box thing a try and you will find out quick if it doesn't work!

We are so happy that you will be sparking with us again; we really have missed you! Junia, I have the same problem with snacking and I usually do pretty well during the year but during the holidays I buy junk that I normally never have in the house so, I too have been gradually putting it back on!

DH and I have resolved to ride our bikes more and I am going to really make an effort to do more walking/jogging this next year!

I pray that we can both stay on the wagon!

God Bless You!

Kat

Yay!!! Welcome back! I'm sure you'll figure out a food plan that works for you. I do something similar to the food in a box thing...I plan meals and snacks before I eat them. Then, if it looks like I'm over, I see where I can cut back before I eat it. Hope you get it figured out. So happy that you'll be hanging around more!
