Let's make 2011 our healthiest year ever

Reflect, Recommit, and Reignite your Spark

As I look back over the past year I can hardly believe that I have been at Spark for over 3 years now.

As I think of the new year approaching Resolutions come to mind, so I did some searching as I was preparing the weekly challenge for the walk/run team. Here is what I found out:

A resolution is defined as "A commitment made to a project or the reforming of a habit, often a lifestyle change that is generally interpreted as advantageous", according to Wikipedia.

emoticon sounds an awful lot like the Spark philosophy. I don't know about you, but this excites me that I am at the right place to learn, grow, and continue being healthy while meeting some awesome people along the way.

I can't beging to tell you how many times I set new years resolutions during my lifetime, only to have them last a few months or so. When I found Spark this all begin to turn around, slowly but surely and I am pleased to say my resolutions have been a continuos journey toward health and happiness - no more broken resolutions, but learning from life experiences and pushing on.

If you are new emoticon. One small step at a time. If you have been here awhile - recommit along with me to living healthy.

I am regenerating my spark - won't you join me?

Support your teams by sharing - Leaders spend a lot of time and energy to keep the groups active.

Reflect, Recommit, and Reignite your Spark for the coming year.

I just read your blog and it is almost a reflection of my current situation. I've been on SP for 3 years. I had lost 50 lbs., but I gained it back after the sudden death of my mother. I have recommitted and rebounded this year. I'm working out every day, I'm eating better, I'm making healthier lifestyle choices, I'm parking farther away from the store, from school, taking the stairs instead of the elevator. So far I'm down about 17lbs. I'm excited. What a wonderful blog you wrote. I'm with you on recommitting!!!! emoticon

Congratulations on your success in all the achievements that you have made and thinking positive to keeping your resolutions for the new year.

You have to play hard an be strong if you want to succeed in life like people have told me in the past.

I have been with Spark People since last October and they have made a difference in my life as well. Wish I knew about them a year ago.

But the main thing that has helped me the most with Spark People is the exercises they have to offer and the articles
on which foods to eat and not to eat. So I have succeeded my-
self in following up with Spark People as well.

So keep up the good work and keep that positive attitude on
looking and feeling your best.

Sure am with you on this one Nancylee, I feel reignited. You know normally with a snowstorm coming I would just stay inside and watch, while hubby shovelled. Today I will shovel and make a snowlady, have fun and get some exercise at the same time. It's my regular day off the gym, but this is fun stuff.

All about moving, eating write and being accountable. Luv to see that little ticker moving further from the start line emoticon

This is January 20, 2011. I am recommitting to getting back on the SP trail and meeting some goals. What inspires me the most are my helpful SP friends and my team Pain into Gain along with seeing my progress in losing the weight. I try not the make the latter a big deal, but it really is pretty important to me. I want to be healthier in the years to come. I won my battle against cancer (cancer free for 9 years) and I can will this battle of the bulge. I am no quitter.

I've been a member for a few weeks now and today is the first day I've really been into looking to see what SparkPeople is all about.
I have a few health issues that prevent me doing a lot of exercising. I do spend time with the peddlar.
2011 will be my Spark year.

Hello, I am brand new this week. I have only followed the program for 3 days now. I have some health issues that prevent me from doing a lot of the excercise programs. I need advice on what to do or substitute different exercises that I can do. I am going to start walking but I am sure that is not enough. Any suggestions ? I am from Southern Delaware. Any one else out there from here? I hope I can even find my way back to this blog. LOL Thank you all in advance for any help you might offer.

Spark! yes good philosophy. I am back at it again, hopefully I will stick to it! I've been "away" for a while now, but thankfully I haven't gained any weight, just not eating as healthy as I should. These past holidays did me in! I cannot keep eating like that! OMG Seems once you get into eating "junk" you just want more and more ...... It is true, it is so addictive, Now I want to get back to being addicted to "good and healthy food"! Wishing everone a Happy and HEALTHY New Year. Jean

My commitment is new to sparkpeople and new to me as well. I feel as though I finally found some motivations to push me where I feel they are getting results. All the info I been collecting from various sources are coming together in a way that makes sense for me. I really want this to be a lifestyle change that will stick and when the weight is finally gone that I will have changed enough that I won't gain it all back. I just want to be normal again, so that I can enjoy my life. So thanks for the reminder.

Like many of us I also have problems following my own resolutions to eat healthily and to exercise more, however the encouragement that I get from SparkPeople Community is incredible they are always sending me helpfull information.

Thank you SparkPeople xx
