Frantic Prayer Request Please

Friday, December 24, 2010

I couldn't sleep last night - I received a call from a neighbor, her 45 year old husband fell out of a tree, and crushed his 7th vertebrae and it sliced the spinal cord.

This means Chris will be paralyzed for life.

I do believe in miracles and I am asking everyone to please please say a special prayer asking for a miracle.

This couple has had the worst luck of anyone I have ever known. They were uprooted from California where they both had successful careers by her mother who needed help taking care of her father. Well, her Mom died of cancer a few years back and her dad is near incapacitated now.

They have both struggled just trying to find work.

He finally actually found work he loved, manual labor, and now this. My prayer is for "a doctor" to see something that no one else sees and somehow save this young man.

I know it is a slim chance - but miracles do still happen and they can certainly use one.

Thank you.
Love,
Linda
I will update as soon as I hear again - won't be until next week.

Well, my DH saw Becky today and Chris will be paralyzed permanently from the waist down. I am not a doctor or nurse - sometimes the miracle is not all we hope for. But they still have each other and Praise the Lord it isn't total paralysis.

We thank everyone for the prayers offered up for this courageous couple.

Just reading this now! I'm praying that God's plans for this young couple are made clear and that they are mentally at ease.

Great attitude, it could always be worse. But don't give up hope for healing yet. There has been many people that have been healed. Also, if there is any way that he can have people help him get up to a standing position every day and move his feet to simulate walking movement that could also help so that his body stay in working order. The other thing is now with a disability, he is eligible for a lot of help in getting things to help him get around and for job training. It is a tragic thing that has happened but there is help out there. A young man in our area had a boating accident and the community rallied around him they received a lot of donations for having the house remodeled for his needs. Like all of us we have to make the best out of what we get in life. It isn't what we are dealt with in life but how we respond to it. Good luck to your friends and many blessings.

There is power in prayer, and when 2 or more agree on this...believe in Jesus' name that his vertebrae and spinal chord is healing, Amen.

Dear Linda, I have just said a prayer for your young friends, and will pray again for them often in the hope that something, anything, from stem cell research allowign the nerve endings to re-attach to somebody realizing that instead of the man's spinal cord being severed, it was only bruised will make their Christmas joyous. If that cannot happen, then I will pray for that other kind of miracle which permits a different door to open, but that seems too hard just now. Just now, I pray that something, anything, will give him the use of his body as he has had it.

    Linda,
Miracles do happen. In my experience, it has often been the most difficult times which in some manner bring the most positive outcomes. Why some individuals have so many hardships is unfathomable to me. I do believe the promise we were given that we do not need to go through them alone. I will be praying with you for your family friends. emoticon
