My brother lives in Australia, and I love chatting to him on the phone. He recently told me a true event from his neighborhood I had to share with my fellow Sparkers. To me, it is a wonderful analogy of our attitude here at SparkPeople.com. Here is my brother's story.
"One of our neighbors has an incredible Christmas lights display each year. We really look forward to seeing his lights go up in their yard and on the house every Christmas.
This year a new neighbor moved in down the street, and put up a Christmas display to beat anything we've ever seen.
As awesome as this display is, everyone started asking our old neighbor when he intended to put up his usual display. He just smiled. "How can I compete with that?" he said, pointing down the street.
Still all our neighbors kept encouraged him to try.
We came home the other day to discover our neighbor had indeed put up his Christmas lights.
Flashing brightly on the side of his house was a large white arrow, pointing toward the new neighbor's awesome display."
Merry Christmas everyone!
