6 weeks post op check in

Friday, December 17, 2010

Had my 6 week post op appointment with the nurse and nutritionist today. All is going well. I'm down a total of 36lbs! Feels good. Next appointment is on Feb 7th which will be my 3 month check up.

Was told I need to get more fluids in and to move on to the soft diet. I was supposed to move on to that 2 weeks ago but just didn't think I could handle it. May be more of a psychological thing with me but for now I'm to add 1 or 2 new items each day. Having salmon and cottage cheese for dinner tonight. Hope it goes down ok.

Until next time..... HONK HONK HONK to all!!

    Hi Lisa

I'm glad you're doing so well. Adding one or two items each day makes good sense.
Please take pictures in different stages of your weight loss. It will be amazing to see the changes.
    Congratulations on your weight loss.
The fact that you know so much about healthy eating will be such a help to you on this journey.
One step at a time. One day at a time. I still do it one day at a time.

I like butternut squash, mashed, with cinnamon and sweetener.
Does the nutritionist tells you specific foods to add each day and what foods to avoid, at least in the beginning?
It's great that you work with a nutritionist. Excellent!

    Happy holidays

Glad to learn that your recovery is going well. I can understand your reluctance for a basically liquid diet. I have worked with the elderly and have pureeed many foods, and added the thick'em. Do what you can, and as long as you are improving go for what works.
Have a Happy Holiday Season! emoticon
