30-day Shred results! Pictures!! :o)

I started doing Jillian Michael's 30-day shred because I wanted results and that is what I got!

After 2 months plateaued at 170, I decided it was time for something new. I had heard people talking about the shred...I knew what Jillian Michael's is all about. Frankly, I was intimidated! Before this I had pretty much just been running and doing pilates. No real strength training. My friend Amber decided to do the shred. She really inspired me to give it a try. 10/10/10 was my first day...I didn't complete the 30 days until 12/10/10. It took me a while, but I am so glad that I stuck with it! I feel so strong! I have muscle tone all over my body now that I have never had before.

Level 1 was hard as hell. I was crippled for the first few days. I could hardly get up and down out of a chair without yelping. It got better after a few days. Then, just when I was getting the hang of level 1 it was time to move on. Again, I was intimidated by level 2, but I had new confidence from my new-found strength. I tackled level 2 with a vengeance. It is my least favorite of all three levels. It just seems like punishment! I was so happy to get to level 3. It is challenging, but I find it to be more enjoyable. It is my favorite of all three, actually. It took me about 60 days to do the workout 30 times. I was also running 3+ times a week.

I am very happy with how far I have come. Here's the numbers:
- 14 pounds lost
- 2.5 inch loss from waist. (30.5 down to 28 at the smallest part.)
- 1.5 inches from hips (40.5 down to 39)
- 1 inch from r. thigh (24 down to 23)
- .5 inch from r. bicep (11.5 down to 11)

I am now a small/size 6!!!! I still buy a medium in the juniors department tho.

I really think level 3 has helped me get my speed up while running too. I feel much more powerful and my endurance has increased. For the first time I am under 10 min/mi!!! WOOOO!!!!

I am very happy with all of these improvements. I am really excited about starting Jillian Michael's 30-day Slim down program. It is a 6-day/week schedule, so it is going to take a lot of motivation to keep with it. I started that last night, 12/13/10. This program is supposed to get "impressive results," which is just what I am looking for. I hope to complete the slim down in less than 40 days. This gives me some wiggle room if I need an extra day off. That makes my latest possible completion date 1/21/11. I can't wait to see what my situation is looking like after this!!

Day 1 and 2 of the slim down is level 1 of the 30DS. I gotta say, I am feeling it today! I didn't expect it to get me so sore after doing level 3 for a while. It's been a while since I have done level 1, my body is CONFUSED!

My fitness goals for this plan are:
-Work on my push-ups. I want to get to the point where I can do 15 good form (on toes, not knees) push-ups.
- Get my running down to 9 min/mi
- Run 10 mi/week (Changed my goal down from 15 mi/week since this schedule is pretty demanding.)
- Lose 6 pounds to put me at my original goal of 150 with a total of 90 pounds lost!

    Look at them ABS! Way to go girl! Impressive results...really.
OMG, I am so glad to know that I'm not the only one that can't do a decent push-up. You know that part on level 2 where you do the walk out push-up? Holy-moley that one's hard for me. My arms aren't strong enough to support myself on the way down.

Maybe we should practice more pushups with a swiss ball's worth a try.

    First off, love your cherry background! I love cherries. Congrats on getting through the 30DS. I tried it like a year ago and couldn't do it..but I've lost a lot more weight since then and been doing more exercise so it may be time to bust it out again soon and give it another go!

    WOW!! Way to go :) - Those are AMAZING results!! You should be very proud of yourself, good luck with the rest of your weight loss goal - you have come so far already.     Wow great job and excellent results! I've been plateauing at 170 for a little over a month, and have been doing TurboFire. I started with the 30 day shred (which took me 90 days) and loved it! I think you'll like the Slimdown. I got great results from it, and I know you will although you are already looking toned. Keep it up!
