I was tired from the back and forth to St. Croix, minus luggage, and then back to school (including loading the kiln). I went to the gas station to fill the car. I took my credit card and put it in the slot. The transaction was cancelled. I couldn't get the card to come out. I looked, I pulled, I pushed buttons, I looked some more - and then it hit me. I had put my card into the slot where the receipt comes OUT, not where the credit card should go IN. OY! So I went inside and explained to the lady - she came out, and called the owner, her dad, who was the only person with the key to the receipt part of the machines. He told her to get a long-nose plier and try to get the card out. A young man came out with the pliers, and I had to hold the metal slot up so he could reach my card and pull it out.
THEN, the machine was so freaked out it refused to take my card in the proper slot - so I had to go back in and use the machine inside to buy my gas.
I will admit, I felt like a complete idiot. (And this is the station I go to all the time!!!!!)
